Juara dunia delapan kali itu telah bergabung dengan Gresini Racing untuk musim depan. Marquez mengambil keputusan besar untuk meninggalkan Honda, tim yang sudah menaunginya selama 11 tahun.
Marquez telah melakoni debut yang menjanjikan di atas motor Desmosedici usai finis empat besar di tes resmi di Valencia. Padahal Ducati sudah begitu dominan di tahun lalu sampai-sampai muncul istilah ‘Kejuaraan Ducati’, menyusul para penunggang Desmosedici secara konsisten bersaing di setiap balapannya.
Aprilia sendiri berhasil mencuri dua kemenangan saat Aleix Espargaro juara di balapan utama Inggris dan Catalunya. Sedangkan Maverick Vinales tiga kali finis runner-up, termasuk di Mandalika, Indonesia.
Rivola mengatakan, Aprilia mesti bekerja ekstra keras untuk bersaing dengan Ducati. Rivola meyakini, Ducati akan semakin dominan seiring kehadiran Marc Marquez, yang mana bukan hal bagus untuk MotoGP itu sendiri.

Apalagi lolosnya Bernard ke Olimpiade 2024 sudah menjadi pencapaian tersendiri setelah 20 tahun absen di Olimpiade.
